Description

The title and the theme of this exhibit is "Expression of Culture, East Meets West". This exhibit will be in conjunction with "Empress Dowager" exhibit and will be held in the John Lee Court. There will be on-site demonstrations and workshops on eastern and western brush calligraphy. Empress Dowager Cixi1 (Chinese: 29 November 1835 - 15 November 1908) was a Chinese empress dowager and regent who effectively controlled the Chinese government in the late Qing dynasty for 47 years from 1861 until her death in 1908.

ELIGIBILITY: • Open to all SFC members. • Work must be current and relate to the theme of the exhibit "East (Chinese) meets West". • There will be a nominal entry fee and submission form in the next email. • All work will be juried for exhibit • Digital submission to Exhibit Committee by September 1, 2017. DISPLAY SPECIFICATIONS: • All artwork must have a black mat and foam-core backing. • Artwork and mat may not exceed 18" in width by 24" in length. • There will be some display cases for 3-D works.
